Wednesday words 06/03/13

It’s Wednesday again, how time flies. My dad’s been over for about a week and a half now, but I’ll go into more detail about in a seperate post at some point soon.

So now back to the Wednesday words. So if you haven’t for some unknown reason haven’t come across Emma at crazywithtwins http://www.crazywithtwins.com/2013/03/05/wednesday-words-6/

This week rather late in the day, hopefully I’ll be able to link up? It’s again a song by Pink to start with and then slightly different than last time. We’ll have the English version of a German song, but I’ll give you a link to both videos, unfortunately I didn’t actually find an official music video to either version of the second lot of lyrics!

Here now come the lyrics to “Who knew” by Pink

“Who knew” by Pink

You took my hand, you showed me how
You promised me you’d be around
Uh huh, that’s right

I took your words and I believed
In everything you said to me
Yeah huh, that’s right

If someone said three years from now
You’d be long gone
I’d stand up and punch them out
‘Cause they’re all wrong

I know better
‘Cause you said forever
And ever, who knew?

Remember when we were such fools
And so convinced and just too cool
Oh no, no no

I wish I could touch you again
I wish I could still call you a friend
I’d give anything

When someone said count your blessings now
For they’re long gone
I guess I just didn’t know how
I was all wrong

But they knew better
Still you said forever and ever
Who knew? Yeah yeah

I’ll keep you locked in my head
Until we meet again
Until we, until we meet again
And I won’t forget you my friend
What happened?

If someone said three years from now
You’d be long gone
I’d stand up and punch them out
‘Cause they’re all wrong

And that last kiss I’ll cherish
Until we meet again
And time makes it harder
I wish I could remember

But I keep your memory
You visit me in my sleep
My darling, who knew?

My darling
My darling, who knew?
My darling I miss you
My darling, who knew?

Who knew?

And here is the official music video to Who knew

Now we come to the 2nd lyrics. I would like you to watch or more like listen to video first and then read on, you then should have a feel for how it should sound. So here is the video to the German version of Seelentherapie by Die toten Hosen

Original version: http://youtu.be/qpRafqQkRTc

Here now follow the English version of the song from the above video

Soul therapy by Die toten Hosen

Sometimes you can’t cope with life,
you think there’s nothing you can do.
The whole world seems to be caving in and burying you.
All the hatred and the hypocrisy, the punishment of truth,
the sickness and the cynicism, that strips away your youth.
If you could find a crack in this faceless wall
and push your fingers through,
your hand will touch another hand ’cause I’m buried here, too.

Come on! Let’s join up!
Let’s rise out of this dirt,
escape from this oppression, this anger and this hurt.
The ignorance, intolerance, stupidity and lies,
spreading like a virus and ruining our lives.
All we need is honesty to push away this night,
let’s hang on to our innocence and hold each other tight.

And we could cure ourselves if we believe it’s possible,
let’s lie down on this couch and make ourselves more comfortable.
We’ve come to the oasis that we’ve both been searching for,
so let’s lay down our weapons and forget this stupid war.
We’ll listen to each other, our wounds will start to heal,
it’s starting out as role-play, but it ends up being real.

I heal you,
if you take care of me.
And we lose ourselves
in soul therapy.

We’ll dive into our deepest fears, delve into our souls,
we’ll face up to our nightmares until the fear dissolves.
And when you meet your enemies, I’ll be there by your side,
from man or god or devil you will never need to hide.
All we need is honesty to push away the night.
Let’s hang on to each other,
let’s hold each other tight.

I heal you,
if you take care of me.
We lose ourselves
in soul therapy.

I heal you,
if you take care of me.
And we lose ourselves
in soul therapy.

And we’ll find ourselves
in soul therapy.

Here now follows the video to the English version of Seelentherapie by Die toten Hosen:

As I said at the start unfortunately I was a bit busy today and hadn’t found the time before now. Also for the German contingent this week I couldn’t find any official videos unfortunately.

Well let me know if you’d like me to carry on with my favourite Pink songs?

Until next week

  1. So the lyrics from Pink … are actually HEARTBREAKING if you sit and read them. I got goosebumps. I think most of us have someone we can apply these too – even if just a friend from our childhood.

I love the motivation in the second song. I love that it starts so dark and opressive and moves to a powerful and moving unity.

You have picked some diamonds this week! Thanks for linking up xx

  2. You big softie – in a good way x
