The very first guest post for this blog is a lovely, romantic, little post from K & C of @mytwomums what now follows is a brief account of their journey to motherhood if you like to know more please read their blog.
I never thought my hatred of mushrooms would help me meet the woman I would spend the rest of my life with.
Both C and I were members of a social networking site. C’s profile listed she was a mushroom hater. Most would find this incredibly random. I on the other side saw it as an opportunity to declare my hatred too. We swapped messages for several weeks before meeting and noticing a spark.
C was at Uni at the time we met. I stayed at her flat one night and then never left. We spent almost every day together.
Our lives started to change in 2008 when C proposed to me on Brighton Beach as the sun was setting the day before Brighton Pride.
We decided if we were going to get married and start a family, we wanted it to be somewhere that made us happy.
So in 2010 our lives changed again when we moved from Middlesex to Dorset. We instantly felt at home. That October we got married in front of our closest family and friends in a gorgeous inn by the countryside.
Once married we were eager to start a family. We spent many an evening researching how we would manage it. We discovered a clinic in Denmark that offered a donor service and booked our flights. But it wasn’t meant to be.
We were lucky enough to find a new route. Within a couple of months C was pregnant. We were over the moon. Just to keep us on our toes C had several scares. At 9 weeks she started bleeding. Scans and tests followed and she was given the all clear.
Each month we got closer to holding our little baby we realised how much our lives had changed.
At 36 weeks C had some complications. She had developed Cholestasis and at 38 was induced.
On the 30th July 2012 we met our beautiful baby boy. Our lives had certainly changed for the best. We could never have visualised 5 years ago that we’d be married with a son living in the countryside. But we couldn’t be happier.
Thank you ever so much K & C for writing this wonderful little post for me. I do feel honored that my 1st guest post comes from such lovely ladies. Here is wishing you and your family unit all the very best!
